Celebration of 2nd Patostav (2nd Anniversary) and Pratishtha of Shiv Mandir
Shri Sanatan Hindu Mandir Wembley (Shri Vallabh Nidhi UK) celebrated 2nd Patostav from 26th May to 1st June 2012 followed by Pratishtha of Shiv Mandir.
Shri Vallabh Nidhi UK organised a Bhagwat Saptah, recited by Shree Bhagwat Rushiji, who is Grandson of Shri Krishnashanker Shastriji (Dadaji), who was the founding president of the charity and an inspiration behind this beautiful Mandir. This was a very special occasion as the Katha was the first one to be conducted within the new Mandir. This was a successful and widely attended Katha and Bhagwat Rushiji in his distinct style captivated the devotees. Over the seven days duration of the Katha, Mr Narendra Thakrar, the Chairman welcomed many distinguished guests including Lord Popat, Pujya Shri Rambapa, Shri Shrutidasji from ISKON and respected councilors.
A successful Saraswati Yagna was conducted on 27th May whereby some 65 children participated in the puja. It was heartening to witness the young Hindus participating in religious ceremony and supporting the Mandir. This is a yearly event in the calendar to encourage youngsters to understand Hindu religion and importance of Yagna and Hindu culture. The children celebrated the 2nd birthday of the Mandir by cutting a cake.
Within the complex, a separate Shivalaya for Kameshwar Mahadev has been constructed and its Pratishtha ceremony took place over 4 days, starting from 31 May to 3 June. The ceremony was conducted by the resident priests of SVNUK and they conducted it according to Hindu Shashtras. Many devotees attended this joyous occasion and participated in a Shobha Yatra (procession) of the deities.
The Shivalaya is now open for devotees to visit.
